Associate Professor
Summary
Teaches undergraduate and graduate courses. Develops and organizes course curriculum and instructional materials. Conducts research and publishes an article or paper in a professional journal. Serves as an academic advisor to students and oversees independent study activities. Provides service to the department, school, or public through such activities as leading committees and volunteer work.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates for this rank shall hold the highest degree appropriate to their field or possess professional qualifications above those equivalent to the highest degree relevant to their field. They are expected to have produced creative work, professional writing, or research and successful teaching or professional experience. A candidate for this rank must have a distinguished record of achievement beyond the assistant professor level.
*An appointee holding this title is tenure-eligible unless the title is appropriately modified as outlined in subsection (4)(a) of UF Regulation 7.003.
